Snowy Stitching Sunday

Good Day Everyone!

It's been somewhat busy in my home lately, primarily with the return to work after the holidays, and I am almost ashamed to admit that I still need to take down my tree and decorations.  In my defense, I am waiting for family assistance because this is no longer a one-woman job.  So, it almost goes without saying that I've not been working on new sewing projects.  But I shared with you that one of the areas in which I want to be more consistent is my blogging, irrespective of any specific "sewing" projects on which I may be working. So, here goes...

We have quite a nice snow storm going this morning in Southeast Michigan, which always reinforces the desire to hunker down and stay indoors, as demonstrated by my furry sewing buddy.

I love seeing falling, accumulating snow and wind blowing through the trees.  It's even better when I don't have to be out in it.  But rather than just snuggle under a blanket watching Lifetime movies (already did that yesterday, so...) I decided to use this morning as an opportunity to whittle down the clothing repair pile which has been growing in my Sewing Room.  On the agenda today..

Re-stuff and stitch close these decorator pillows from my daughter's bedroom...

...replace the back panel of this stuffed animal's head - a casualty of one of Max's mischievous moments...

Replace the sole on my favorite pair of household slippers...

...taper and hem the pant legs on some "jeans" I purchased back in September while thrift store shopping with my daughter.

And, if time permits, salvage the trimming, beading and fabric from an old wedding dress (not mine)...

...and a beloved sweater which shrank beyond use.

All of this, plus find time to grocery shop for the family and pack away the tree and decorations.  Needless to say, it's going to be a busy Sunday.

Be blessed!

Aisha

    1. IKR. I think we picked up an inch this morning. The funny thing is it felt like Spring yesterday. Even the birds were outside chirping. Winter in Michigan!
